Learn more about The Temple Brothers, what inspired their career and where they are today.

The Temple Brothers are real life brothers, who have been performing together in various formats for almost 27 years.
Starting out at a very early age with Colin on guitar aged 11 and Steve on drums aged 13, they formed a duo called Midnight Dynamos. Being brought up on 50's & 60's music this is where unknown to them would be the starting point of their musical careers. Rehearsing at home to perfect their sound and material they realised that they had a unique talent of harmonising when singing together.

Being spotted in 1993 by Sandra and Phil Rice this was the breaking point they needed to lift off their careers in live bookings with their first show in October 1993 at the Beecholme Holiday Centre in Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire. As their musical careers progressed and popularity increased, in 1994/1995 the duo was joined on Bass by their friend Brett Harrison, Colin had taught Brett to play the bass and he also helped out on Vocals which brought a bigger sound and a new dimension to the duo which sounded much better as a trio. Brett stayed with the trio for approximately 1 year and then decided he wanted to do different things so the boys where then joined by a good friend Ricky Sherwood, again Ricky didn’t know how to play the bass so Colin taught him the ropes and Ricky very quickly picked it up and also began to sing once his confidence had built up.

The trio carried on for another few months recording their first cassette tape called Dynamite which they sold at
the shows, eventually they were spotted by Roy Williams of Nervous Records and he approached the trio to record an album, the boys agreed and with the help of Ray Cotton of the 1980s band The Jets, who had hits all over the world,
the boys recorded their first full proper album, Do You Wanna Dance - CD No: NERCD096, which was released on
the 1st June 1999, featuring mostly covers but also a couple of Colin and Rickys own penned songs, this is still available today worldwide and on most streaming platforms too.

Ricky stayed with the trio for a couple of years and then left to concentrate his career on other things which included becoming a chef. At this time the brothers were joined by Darren Perry who was recommended to the boys
by a friend at a local music gear store, the lads continued strength to strength and was getting more and more well known that they were spotted by a guy called Gordon Woodhall and was asked to perform a show at Nantwich Civic Hall in Cheshire, unknown to the trio but Gordon was the manager of The Black Abbotts and was friends with a guy called Ray Martin who was at the time the drummer with The Dreamers (formerly Freddie & the Dreamers) and also an artist agency specialising in bands etc, the trio was recommended to Ray Martin and the boys began working in holiday parks and also supported some other named artistes.

Ray mentioned to the boys one day that if they learnt sixties music numbers then he could get them extra work
and also put them on Butlins 1960s music festivals, which they did and more work came from this, working
alongside massive artistes like Marty Wilde & the Wildcats, Gerry & the Pacemakers, The Fortunes, Susan Maughan,
Brian Poole & the Electrix plus many many more. The trio became the support band for The Dreamers on many
package shows and hence more work came in and the boys never looked back. They also put together a 1970s
show and the band did a few shows under the name Miami Dice, which didn’t last long as the boys didn’t feel
comfortable doing this, not much work came it for it either and so it folded and the boys stuck to doing the
1950s and 1960s shows instead. After approximately 6/7 years later Darren decided to leave the band and the
boys was left to being a duo again, after many talks Colin and Steve called it a day on the Midnight Dynamos
and the band ceased to exist.

In 2005 during a family holiday in Tenerife, it was suggested by their Mum - Glynne, that they concentrate on their harmonies and possibly form a tribute to The Everly Brothers, exactly, why not! Plans where set in place, 2 years of studying the Everly Brothers harmonies, Steve having to learn the guitar, foundations began and a new show was formed under the name The Temple Brothers - Play Everly.

Colin and Steve could not imagine where this would now take them, shows became more popular, opening new ventures including performing in Theatre's, Overseas in Cyprus, Rhodes, on board Thomson Cruises which took them around the world and the USA. The success of their Everly Brothers tribute show, gave them the opportunity to perform in front of Bruce Welch of the Shadows at his Shadowmania Event in Frimley Green in Surrey in September 2014.

In 2009 to this very day the brothers formed and promote their own theatre show the Everly Brothers & Friends tribute show featuring guest tribute acts at their request. A true highlight of this show was in May 2014 when Shakin Stevens attended one of their concerts at Henley-On-Thames in London. Colin and Steve to this day perform their Everly Brothers tribute show to backing music, with a live band and as part of their theatre production "The Everly Brothers & Friends Tribute Show" which is gaining huge popularity.

Colin and Steve have been performing their Everly Brothers tribute show and their Everly Brothers & Friends Tribute
Show for over 10 years now and are acclaimed to be the UK's leading Everly Brothers Tribute act. On the 5th July 2017, Colin and Steve were presented with an award declaring them the Official UK No.1 Everly Brothers Tribute Artist by
the National Tribute Music Awards 2017. The event took place at Leicester Athena which saw them receive
their award alongside other winning tribute artists from around the country.

For over 20 years their musicianship, vocal ability, professionalism and love of what they do has enabled them to perform all over the world, working for companies such as: Warner Leisure Hotels, Butlins, Thomson, P&O, British Holidays, Bunn Leisure, BBC Children In Need, Haven Holidays, Richardsons, Yesterday Once More, in numerous theatre productions alongside Barry Steele & Marc Robinson, perform along side iconic stars of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and also backing such great artists as, Linda Gail Lewis, Charlie Gracie, Dave Berry and most recently
Graham Fenton of the hit 80s band - Matchbox.

Colin and Steve had no plans to ever perform again as The Midnight Dynamos until approx 10 years later when
they were asked to reform for a special charity show for Phil and Sandra Rice who originally gave them their
break back in 1993, they agreed and was joined on that night by Laura Hickling who was a great bass player
and vocalist and they tore the place up and thought about maybe it might be a good idea to start the band up
again as well as their Everly Brothers Tribute.

The boys did and Laura helped out where she could until thanks to the power of Facebook, they began talking
with Ricky Sherwood whom they had lost contact with over the years and he came to see them as The Everly Brothers
in a show near Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, they chatted about old times and Colin said to Ricky how would you
like to do a few gigs and have a laugh and see what happens, Ricky agreed and the rest as they say is history.

In 2014 Colin and Steve were pleased to be asked to join Alan Mosca & Bryan Byng in the well established sixties hit recording group The Dreamers (formerly Freddie & the Dreamers), performing well known hits as
‘You Were Made For Me’’ I’m Telling you Now ‘’ If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody ‘and many more and are
still with them to this day with the exception of Nicky Walker who replaced Bryan Byng in 2018 due to ill health.
In 2020 Colin and Steve decided to make their Everly Brothers & Friends Tribute Show into a live production show, featuring a full live band and special guests Buddy Walker as Buddy Holly and Steve Wicketts as Jerry Lee Lewis.
Colin and Steve now again have been accused of miming which to them is a massive compliment, but both brothers thought how can we prove what we do is live so ‘The Everlys & Friends - The Live Tribute Show’
was created and the rest as they say is history.
